Financial Inclusion Festival Promotes Financial Literacy and Inclusion

The Financial Inclusion Festival, organized by the School of Business Studies and Pakistan Mercantile Exchange - PMEX, focused on fostering financial literacy and inclusion. The festival featured an engaging exhibition and seminar featuring experts from various sectors who shared emerging trends in the financial world and provided an academic perspective on practical finance. 

Hands-Only CPR Awareness Session Enhances Community Safety

Promoting community safety, a Hands-Only CPR awareness session was conducted by Liaquat National Hospital at our Main Campus. This session was a pivotal step in empowering our campus community with life-saving skills and knowledge. It not only enhances our preparedness for medical emergencies but also underscores our commitment to the well-being of all members. 

Foundations of Higher Education Teaching and Learning Workshop

The School of Business Studies’ Center for Innovation in Learning & Ed-Transformation, in collaboration with Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development, organized the first module of the Foundations of Higher Education Teaching and Learning – Post Graduation Certification Programs. The workshop enhanced participants’ pedagogical skills and fostered a collaborative and supportive environment among faculty members. 

Bloomberg Terminal Installed in School of Business Studies’ Finance Lab

We're thrilled to announce the installation of the Bloomberg Terminal in the School of Business Studies’ Finance Lab. This addition opens a world of opportunities for our students, providing them with access to a powerful financial resource. It's a significant step forward in enhancing their learning experience, equipping them with practical skills and knowledge crucial in the ever-evolving financial landscape. 

Strengthening Campus Ties:
Community Engagement and Education Advocacy at OPEN Chicago

At OPEN Chicago, Mr. Samie Alam (Batch of '78) had the honor of representing IBA. During this exceptional event, the crucial importance of education was underscored, emphasizing the dire need for expanded endowments to bolster IBA's mission. The gathering served as a platform to engage with the community, showcasing the pivotal role that education plays in shaping a brighter future. It highlighted the necessity for collective support, ensuring that IBA continues to provide quality education and opportunities for all.

Alumni Connect Event Promotes Networking and Learning

IBA Karachi's School of Business Studies (SBS) recently hosted an 'Alumni Connect' event at the Marriott Hotel Karachi, uniting over 120 accomplished alumni with faculty. The gathering bridged the gap between recent graduates and distinguished alumni, fostering camaraderie and inspiration. Dr. Abdullah Zafar Sheikh, SBS Dean, introduced the school's vision and AACSB accreditation pursuit. The event showcased SBS's mission to continue IBA's legacy as a premier business school in Pakistan. It also introduced alumni engagement committees and encouraged alumni to participate. The evening marked the beginning of an enduring alumni network, supporting graduates in the dynamic business world. 

IBA Karachi Welcomes CIEC Sindh HEC for Evaluation and Assessment

IBA Karachi welcomed the Charter Inspection and Evaluation Committee (CIEC) from the Sindh Higher Education Commission (HEC) for an assessment. Distinguished guests, including Dr. S.M. Tariq Rafi, Chairperson of Sindh HEC, and subject experts from various universities, attended. The committee engaged in constructive discussions with the Deans of IBA's schools, led by Executive Director Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, and took a campus tour. It was a day of collaboration and knowledge-sharing, celebrating IBA's achievements over the past two years. 

Delegation from French Universities Visits Campus

IBA recently hosted a delegation from esteemed French universities, led by Fabiha Aziz, Campus France Officer, and including Nesrine Abbad, International Recruitment Manager, EDHEC Business School; Léa Albrieux, International Development Manager, Sciences Po; and Caroline Duval, Director of International Promotions, Esdes Business School, Lyon Catholic University. IBA management members Dr. Shakeel Khoja, Dr. Asma Hyder, Dr. Abdullah Sheikh, and Maheen Ghauri were present. The discussions explored exciting opportunities for academic collaboration and reinforced IBA's commitment to global educational excellence. This visit signifies our dedication to fostering international partnerships in higher education.

Scholarship Award Ceremony for Flood-Affected Students

A heartwarming Scholarship Award Ceremony took place, thoughtfully organized by USAID and the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan. This event held special significance as it aimed to provide crucial support to students affected by floods. It reflected IBA Karachi's dedication to fostering educational opportunities and aiding those in need during challenging times. The ceremony celebrated resilience and the power of education in overcoming adversity, showcasing the institution's commitment to making a positive impact in the community. 

Student Triumphs and Achievements:
Exceptional Swimmer Shines at 7th Student Olympic Games:

Ali Raza, our exceptional swimmer, continues to make us proud by winning a gold, silver, and bronze medal at the 7th Student Olympic Games organized by the Pakistan Students Olympic Association. Ali's achievements are a testament to the excellence that thrives at IBA. 

Table Tennis Triumph at Whales College Inter-University Tournament:

Our outstanding table tennis team secured the first prize at the Whales College Table Tennis Inter-University Tournament. IBA takes great pride in these remarkable achievements of our students. 

Archery Success at 7th Student Olympic Games:

Muhammad Ahmad, Sawera Ilyas, and Saif Muhammad Shah excelled in the Archery event at the 7th Student Olympic Games. Ahmad secured a silver medal, while Sawera and Saif won bronze medals. The IBA Archery Team also claimed a runner-up trophy. 

Impressive Table Tennis Performance at AKU Sports Olympiad 2023:

Kaif Riaz and Muhammad Ahmed performed extraordinarily well at the AKU Sports Olympiad 2023, winning gold and silver medals in the Table Tennis single-category event. IBA also secured a gold medal in the doubles category. We are proud of these exceptional athletes who continue to uphold the reputation of our institution with their remarkable achievements.

Spotlighting Supporters: Alumni's Exceptional Contribution
Class of 2002 - Fawad Khurshid Endowment Fund

The Class of 2002 alumni at IBA Karachi made a remarkable contribution by establishing the Fawad Khurshid Endowment Scholarship fund. Their collective effort, raising PKR 10 million, ensures a 100% tuition fee waiver for a deserving student in perpetuity. This initiative reflects their dedication to transforming lives through quality education and serves as an inspiring example of alumni involvement in the noble mission of empowering students for a brighter future.
