A Night of Giving: Friends of IBA

On May 24th, 2024, the IBA City Campus hosted the "Friends of IBA" event, bringing together dedicated supporters and donors who pledged a remarkable 43 scholarships to aid students from underprivileged backgrounds. This esteemed community of benefactors comprised both corporate supporters and alumni, whose contributions have been pivotal in enhancing educational accessibility at IBA. The event was graced by Danish Aman, a renowned business leader and member of the RM Advisory Council, along with other prominent leaders. A highlight of the evening was the heartfelt stories shared by alumni of the National Talent Hunt Program (NTHP), whose experiences and successes deeply moved the attendees, illustrating the profound impact of their donations. The event culminated in a shield presentation ceremony, where Dr. Zaidi honored the Friends of IBA community donors with commemorative shields, celebrating their support and commitment to the institution. Strengthening Partnerships: Meeting with JK Investment Group

IBA's Resource Mobilization (RM) team recently held a productive meeting with CEO Faizan Steel, marking the beginning of a promising partnership. The meeting, attended by Malahat Awan, Director ARC, Sameer Khaleequzaman, Manager RM, and Rabeea Yousuf, Senior Executive RM, focused on various avenues for collaboration. Jahangir Khan, CEO Faizan Steel, pledged support for a student through an annual scholarship fund and discussed additional opportunities such as infrastructure projects at IBA and the establishment of an endowment fund. This collaboration aims to enhance educational infrastructure and support at IBA, benefiting students and fostering growth.

Strategic Collaboration Discussion: RM Team Meets Mr. Farooq Akhtar

The IBA Resource Mobilization (RM) team, comprising Malahat Awan, Director ARC, Manager RM Sameer Khaleequzaman, and Senior Executive RM Rabeea Yousuf, recently met with Mr. Farooq Akhtar to discuss potential collaboration avenues. The meeting focused on identifying mutually beneficial opportunities aligning with IBA's vision and strategic goals. Celebrating Partnership: MoU with Retired Justice Dr. Zafar Ahmed Khan Sherwani

An MoU signing ceremony was recently held at the IBA Main Campus with Retired Justice Dr. Zafar Ahmed Khan Sherwani, marking the establishment of an endowment fund at IBA, Karachi. The ceremony, attended by Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director IBA, Malahat Awan, Director ARC, Sameer Khaleequzaman, Manager RM, and Fariha Fatima, Executive ARC, emphasized collaboration opportunities between IBA and the Sherwani Group of Companies. IBA faculty awarded Outstanding Academic Achievement Award at HESSA’s Women Leadership Showcase

Dr. Shabana Nisar, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematical Sciences, SMCS, has been honored with the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award at the HESSA’s Women Leadership Showcase held in Islamabad. Rahima Secures McCall MacBain Scholarship

Rahima, Class of 2024, has been awarded a $20,000 McCall MacBain Finalist Award to pursue her Masters at McGill University. She is studying Economics at IBA Karachi and will join McGill's MSc Agricultural Economics program in Fall 2024. Rahima excelled among 2,250 candidates, marking a milestone for IBA Karachi. IBA students, Syeda Manahil Hussain, SSLA-Batch 2024, and Mariam Kanchwala, SSLA-Batch 2027, have won silver medals at the prestigious 63rd Grand Moscow Regatta.
