IBA Karachi Renews MOU with Orange Tree Foundation, Reaffirming Commitment to Deserving Scholars

IBA Karachi and Orange Tree Foundation (OTF) formally renewed their Memorandum of Understanding onMarch 30, 2026, reaffirming their shared commitment to providing need-cum-merit-based scholarships to high-achieving students who face financial barriers to higher education.

The renewal ceremony was attended by Dr. S. Akber Zaidi, Executive Director of IBA Karachi, and Mr. Omer Mateen Allahwala, CEO of Orange Tree Foundation, along with senior representatives from both institutions. In their discussions, Dr. Zaidi, Mr. Allahwala, and Malahat Awan, Director Resource Mobilization, reflected on the partnership's progress and looked ahead – exploring opportunities for deeper alumni involvement, addressing challenges faced by scholars, and strengthening the long-term sustainability of the programme.

Under the OTF x IBA Higher Education Scholarship Programme, OTF funds need-cum-merit-based scholarships covering tuition, hostel, and mess fees for enrolled IBA students. The partnership also encompasses engagement beyond financial aid: OTF's Mentoring Minds Programme connects scholars with mentorship and professional guidance, and IBA facilitates quarterly student-OTF meetings to support scholar wellbeing and development.

IBA Karachi is grateful to Orange Tree Foundation, a registered non-profit dedicated to empowering youth towards financial independence – for their continued investment in expanding access to quality higher education.
